Meridian Police Dept. assists U.S. Marshals Service in the arrest of a Florida man

This morning, the Meridian Police Department SWAT team assisted the U.S. Marshals Service with the arrest of a Florida man, who is facing charges of sexual assault on a minor from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Department in Milton, Florida.

According to authorities, around 9am, 37-year old Jeremiah Timothy Ivanoff was arrested at a home close by the Landmark Apartments near Highway 39 North and North Hills Street, after attempting to barricade himself in the home. Ivanoff is now in custody and is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Facility. He will be extradited back to Florida, and is expected to face no additional charges in Mississippi.
