Meridian, MS - The national average for a gallon of regular gas was about $3.31 today; 25 cents cheaper than a month ago and 36 cents lower than the same period in 2022, according to AAA.
Here in Mississippi, the current average for a gallon of gas sits ever lower, at 2.78 per gallon.
In Lauderdale County, that number is 2.71.
“I usually use premium, but I had to go down to just the regular because prices were so high so now, maybe I can go back to the regular gas that I use,” says Meridian Resident
The average national price for a gallon of gas could hit $3.25 by Thursday, which would be the cheapest price on Thanksgiving day since 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic crushed demand.
