At a local Exxon, Ruby Brown says she’s happy the prices are going down but hopes it continues

“It's terrible. I drive every day”, said Brown. “I used to pay $28 to fill up. Now I’m paying $40 to fill up and I do this every day. So, it's very expensive now. It needs to continue to go down for us to see a break.”

Local Torrey Adams had a distinct opinion about why gas prices tend to constantly change.

“So, it's ebbs and flows, and it’s cyclical. It's going to go up for different reasons. And this time we can point to, okay, there's a distraction going on and a major deal going on in Ukraine”, said Adams “So, we tend to think of that being the reason, but oftentimes it has nothing to do with that kind of event. It just so happens that there are other parts of the world that have different issues that are going on that affect the overall global price.”

Adams says even though gas prices have reached an unusual high, he’s grateful to be paying the prices compared to what he could be paying somewhere else.

“We are still paying a lot less than they are in so many other countries. So, I think we are in a whole lot better shape than they are elsewhere.”

Experts say you can expect to see gas prices slowly fall over the next week.
