Golden Ticket Cinemas holds ribbon cut ceremony

Get ready for the movie theater butter. The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation held a ribbon cutting ceremony today for Golden Ticket Cinemas at Uptown Meridian. The newly renovated space includes luxury reclined seats, reserved seating and expanded food and beverage at the concession stand.

“We are very excited. It’s been quite a few months in the making--a lot of hard work and dedication from our team," said President of Golden Ticket Cinema John Bloemeke. "I imagine almost everyone in Meridian has come to this theater in the past and I think when they see the investment that has been made and the upgrades that have been made, they’ll be tremendously excited and through the roof.”

Golden Ticket Cinemas is one out of 11 locations in the United States.

"This is our 10th location. We have 11 total," said Bloemeke. "One is coming in Arkansas. We are based in North Carolina and we have locations all the way as far west as Montana."

Officials say the new theater is a great addition to the Meridian area.
