GYM GOERS SAY, SLACKING OFF DURING THE HOLIDAYS ISN'T AN OPTION.

THE HOLIDAY SEASON IS ALSO A SEASON OF RESTING AND PACKING ON EXTRA POUNDS, BUT OUR DANNY TODD SPEAKS WITH GYM GOERS, WHO HAVE MADE IT THEIR MISSION TO STAY FIT.


During the Christmas holidays, we get full of joy, full of gifts, and also full of food, which leads us to speaking with local gym goers as they tell us why it's important for them to not break the tradition of staying healthy.


ANABELLE ANDERSON: LOCAL GYM GOER says " I think getting in the gym after the holidays is really important just because obviously you do a lot of resting over the holidays and we're coming up on a new year. So it's time to make new goals, especially in your fitness journey. And for me, I'm starting to get more consistent in the gym because I was never consistent before."


Health experts advise that skipping the gym can lead to a lax in your schedule, developing bad patterns that can become the new norm if we allow it.


AVERY KNOWLES: LOCAL GYM GOER says "Well, I sure did eat a lot over the holidays, and I've been coming to the gym for about like two years now. And I love it because it makes me feel good and it feels good to like achieve goals and be consistent with something and challenge yourself. So I definitely recommend coming to the gym, especially just getting a head start on those New Year's resolutions."


ANABELLE ANDERSON BELIEVES IT’S IMPORTANT TO DEVELOP ROUTINES AND STAY CONSISTENT…. THAT IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.

ANABELLE ANDERSON says "I'm no expert at the gym or going to the gym, but I was always in sports my whole high school career. And now that I'm in college, I find it hard to get the motivation to go to the gym and to stay consistent in that. But I'd say the most important thing is just becoming more consistent and finding a routine that works for you and works for your fitness goals personally."


AVERY KNOWLES ADDS THAT THE GYM HAS MORE TO OFFER THAN JUST STAYING IN SHAPE.

AVERY KNOWLES: says " They do have tanning beds. Get your good winter tan. But also, like I said, I like having a gym buddy to keep you motivated. And every time I go into the gym, I know somebody because we do live in a small town, so that's fun. So you can be surrounded by other people with the same goals as you."


With New Year's Eve upon us and a lot of people having goals to become healthier. These two ladies hope their advice makes it an easy transition to stay consistent on your own personal health journey.
