Meridian, MS - The Summer Season could cause a higher risk of ticks to your pets.
The CDC says between 2011 and 2019 tick disease cases have increased in the U.S. by 25%.
Pet owners are encouraged to take precautions to prevent ticks from happening.
“If you ever notice ticks on your pet, it’s very important that you talk to your veterinarian and find a good tick preventative to prevent that from happening.” says Dr. Misty McNeil; Veterinarian at Tin-Newell Animal Hospital.
Vets say another good way to spot ticks is to get into the habit of checking your pet's fur.
