The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new location of Home Instead Senior Care facility, located at 4525 Poplar Springs Drive in Meridian. The facility was recently purchased in April and restored to fit the needs of seniors in Meridian.
The organization also kicked off their ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ open house this morning. Organizations that service senior citizens in Meridian are asked to turn in a name of a senior to be placed on the Christmas tree at Home Instead Senior Care for community members to wrap a gift for that senior.
“The transition in having a location that was not as big and being able to move to this location has been huge,” said Owner of Home Instead Senior Care Charissa Shirley. “It’s been great and the fact that we can social distance--we have a circle drive where our caregivers come through and check their temperatures. That’s kind of the concept of buying an older home and remodeling it--just to have it where everyone feels like they’re at home.”
