Ross Collins Technical Center’s health and science students toured Anderson Regional Medical Center. The program Health Organization Students Association (HOSA) is geared to empower future health professionals.

President of the program, Chambre Sims, believes the tour is a great opportunity for students who are not sure of what area they want to go towards.
“So, I hear a lot of students saying, oh, I didn't know that they had this or they had it. So, they are thinking about exploring the other areas in the hospital”, said Sims.
The students toured three different areas: radiology, physical therapy, and the lab.
“So far on a tour, I've learned about radiology, the and the rehab center. I learned what they do and the different centers they have in the office. It’s not just one thing, they have different specialties and each one”, said HOSA Vice President Makiya Lynch.

Counselor of the program, Nicole Worthy, says the school is looking to make a connection between education and the world of work through the tour.
“I hope the students will recognize that there is so much more than Meridian has to offer in the health science field. They'll get to see different occupations other than just nursing here at Anderson, so we're hoping to open their eyes to the possibilities they have right here at home.”
The technical school has been taking students on several tours specific to the different career classes the school offers.
