Meridian, MS - Birthdays are always known as a time of celebration, and Meridian Resident Katherine Maxwell is celebrating with friends and family as she has reached a milestone of 108 Years Old. “It feels good to live as long as I have and have my family.”
Not only has she reached the remarkable age of 108, but she also lives alone, and still cooks, and cleans for herself. When Twin States News asked her how it felt to reach the age of 108, Katherine was very honest in her answer. “I don’t Know.”
Being surrounded by friends and family Katherine’s daughter, Ann Watts, reflects on the influence her mother had and still has on her life. “It’s been wonderful for me because she has set such a wonderful example for me growing up, and in her older years, that you just hang in there.”
Katherine also told Twin States News that she remains hopeful and positive as the years go by.
“Wait till I get to be 109.”
Katherine emphasized that it is a blessing from God that she has reached this age and can still do for herself.
