Kennis W Croom Street unveiled in Meridian.

Meridian MS - A ceremony was held today in the parking lot of the Meridian Police Department in honor and remembrance of Officer Kennis W. Croom.Officer Croom was killed in the line of duty last year on June 9, 2022, after responding to a domestic violence call.


“To see the City of Meridian, the city he loved to work in cherish his legacy, it really is amazing.” - Kevin Croom


Kevin Croom is the oldest brother. He, along with their father Kelvin Croom believe Officer Croom died doing what he loved. “He loved law enforcement, loved helping, loved protecting, loved serving, and her loved the community.” “He told me “Dad, law enforcement is my calling.” And I had to accept that. And so, he used the streets of meridian as his pulpit to spread the good news.”


Speaking of the streets of Meridian, Kennis W. Croom street was unveiled to the family and attendees, it was also announced June 9th is officially recognized as Kennis W. Croom day in the city of meridian. For attendee Terry Rogers, and the Croom family, this is a true testament to Kennis legacy.
