The Lauderdale County School District is extending additional tech support help to students and parents, as the district continues distance learning on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, October 7 from 9 am-11:30 am, parents and students will be able to access live tech support for distance learning days. Through Zoom, they will be provided one-on-one help for online learning platforms like Canvas and Google Classroom.

Lauderdale County School District’s Instructional Technologist Dr. Marie Roberts shared what type of assistance students and parents can expect when they access the live tech support on Zoom.
“From a technology support standpoint, when you’re working and you run into an issue, you don’t want to have to wait to send an email or call someone. So, the exciting part about this is that people can log on immediately with the click of a button, show me their screens, --in some cases I can even take control of their computer to help troubleshoot tech support issues, things like pop up blockers, even updating their internet web browser, so that we can really assist them in solving that one question or that one concern,” said Dr. Marie Roberts.
She also shared that she hopes students and parents will take advantage of the live distance learning days help via Zoom.
“I want this support to be well received. I want it to be utilized. We’re making ourselves available, we want students to hop in, we want parents to reach out with questions. I don’t want them to have to send an email and wait 24 hours for a response,” said Dr. Roberts.

The district hopes to provide additional days for live one-on-one help on scheduled days throughout the remainder of the semester. To access the live one-on-one help on October 7, head to https://tinyurl.com/LCSDhelp.
