The Lauderdale County School District held a sanitation informational for their custodians to inform them on proper cleanings that will take place before and after school when it resumes. Cleanings will be in classrooms, offices and hallways.
“We’re going to be putting a spray bottle in each classroom, using Ph7 Cube which is our disinfected that kills pretty much all the viruses that we’re dealing with right now,” says LCSD Director of Operations and Safety Kevin Cheatham. “With that, we’re going to be giving teachers five microfiber towels to use for the cleaning, wiping down the hard surfaces and things in between class periods.”
The three phase cleaning efforts will include teachers, custodians and a professional cleaning crew.
“We’re bringing in a professional cleaning crew at night and they’ll be cleaning all hard surfaces and things at night and wiping down-just to make sure we’re prepared for students to come back.”
Along with classrooms and offices, each school bus and playground will be thoroughly cleaned each day. All classrooms and other areas will be fogged at night and in between planning periods.
“It's very effective. It leaves a film on everything-it’s a wet film. If you’ll leave it on there wet for ten minutes, it pretty much kills everything and that’s through CDC guidelines. It gets into the nooks and crannies where you may not be able to.”
The district informs they have plenty of supplies to make these multiple cleanings possible.
