Lauderdale County School District Propose Reopening Plans for School Year

The Lauderdale County School District had a task force inaugural meeting yesterday morning regarding the safety of faculty, staff and students when classes resume.

Community leaders came together to discuss safety measures and considerations in response to COVID-19 by the Mississippi Department of Education.

“We want to do it the best we can to try to provide what we can to all of our students, listen to their needs, listen to the health professionals and do what we can to make it as normal as possible,” says Superintendent Dr. John-Mark Cain.

Superintendent Cain says the district plans to go forward with resuming classes in August.
