The first season of volleyball is beginning for all Lauderdale County High Schools. The volleyball coach of Southeast High School is excited about the first official season.
“I have five softball players, seven cheerleaders, five basketball players- some kids in the band and a couple soccer players. I think volleyball here-more kids can participate in the fall," says Volleyball Coach Dana Buchanan.
With game day making its way back for schools, the Mississippi High School Activities Association has put rules in place for sporting events.
“Every participate gets two tickets to give their family, parents friends-whoever is going to come. We’re asking everyone to spread out in the gym when they’re watching the game. They have to wear a mask.”
Players will go through the process of being screened before all games.
"The players are screened and they can have no interaction with the fans. They can’t go see mama in between games. If they’re on the bench both games, they have to stay over to one side and stay out. We have to separate them as much as possible on the bench and they have to wear a mask when they’re not in the gym.”
Hand sanitizer stations will be available and equipment will be sanitized throughout games. View to access volleyball and football schedules.
