Lauderdale County Sherriff's Department starting Sobriety Checkpoints for Holiday Season.

Meridian, MS - The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department is preparing to set up sobriety checkpoints.

Starting this Friday, December 15, the checkpoints will run through Monday, January 1.

Chief Ward Calhoun told Twin States News the checkpoints are to maintain safe driving during the holiday season.

Locations for the checkpoints will be announced soon.
