Meridian, MS - Lauderdale County deputies are preparing for their inaugural Holiday Food Drive for Hunger.
The event, which will be an annual food drive moving forward, will support The Wesley House, which offers support to community members in need.
Donors can simply drive up, drop off their donations, and then receive a cup of hot chocolate or spiced apple cider, and some baked goods. Non-perishable food items and monetary donations will be accepted.
"News is constantly filled with the negative side of what going on in the community typically, and I felt that we needed to do something to show what we're giving back to the community," says Patrol Lieutenant: Kris Cokel
The event is happening this Saturday from 5 to 8 PM at the Lauderdale County Government Complex Flag Pole on 22nd Avenue South, in Meridian.
