Meridian, MS - The Lauderdale County School District held a leadership luncheon to discuss plans for its new Career and Technical Education Center.
“Right now, we’ve divided a lot of our resources across the county in our Career and Technical education programs, but in the development of this new center we’ll be able to multiply our resources, combine resources and multiply.” says Rob Smith.
Rob Smith is Director of Career and Technical Education and believes this center will benefit students and the community. “The main thing in the development of this center is to be able to bridge the gap in connection between us, post-secondary, workforce training all the way through. We want there to be a seamless transition for students interested in any pathway to be able to choose it and work their passions out all the way through.”
Rob and the school district’s goal is to help students find their passion for their careers. “When students find relevance in their education they find success, and that’s what we’ve got to do is connect more relevance to what their learning each and every day.”
Lauderdale County School District says they are not only investing in their students, but the community as well.
