Lauderdale County School District (LCSD) celebrated their principals this week in recognition of October being “National Principals' Month.” Twin States news was there this morning to capture the moment.
LCSD teamed up with local business and civic groups to surprise the school principals this week. Marion Police Department’s, Alesia Boyed, was there to present the gift to Northeast Middle School Principal and Assistant Principal.

“The Northeast Middle school, other middle schools, elementary, all the county schools; they do such a great job with the kids out here and we just want to show our appreciation of what they do and how they do it”, explained Boyed.
It was a welcomed surprise for Northeast Middle School’s Principal Deborah Potter.
“I’m very excited and honored that the Marion Police Department decided to appreciate us this year”, stated Northeast Middle Principal Deborah Potter. “They always go out with a bang, and it’s so well appreciated. I appreciate their kindness”

With school's all over battling COVID-19 and having a unprecedented year, letting principals know that the work they do is appreciated, is something that Boyd believes is necessary.
“When you come and bless somebody with something, you give them encouragement to know to keep doing what you're doing”
The Lauderdale County School District wants to thank all the principals in their district for everything they do.
