LCSD welcomes newly elected school board member

The Lauderdale County School District is welcoming a newly elected school board member.

Michael Wilson has been appointed to the district 5 seat of the Lauderdale County School District's School Board, replacing previous board member, Terry Harper, who did not seek re-election. Also serving on the districts school board is Kelvin Jackson, Dusty Culpepper, Josh Thompson, and Barbara Jones. Wilson shared that he is excited to serve in his new role, as a school board member for the district.

“I do have a lot to learn, but I do know that I need to – it will take time to earn the respect and the trust that , you know – that they trust my opinion, and you know, -- trust the way that I think about things. So, I’ll have to do a lot more listening than talking, getting started,” said Michael Wilson.

The Lauderdale County School District holds its school board meetings once a month.
