Local farm prepares for upcoming pumpkin patch season

Updated: Sep 25, 2020

The Lazy Acres Farm will be open for the next two weekends for families to enjoy the pumpkin patch and other fun attractions.

From the pumpkin patch to the cinematery (cinema+cemetery), families can find many entertaining features at the Lazy Acres Fun Farm. This will be the first opening since Christmas for the farm due to the pandemic.

“We’ve done a lot of cleaning this year trying to get ready. We’ve also added some new attractions, a new play barn area and I think folks are really going to find it a lot different this year and it’s going to be a lot of fun," says Owner Operator Michael May.

May says the farm attractions will be cleaned and there are plenty of hand washing stations throughout the farm.

“We are allowing people to social distance on their own out here. We’ve got about 40 acres where folks can spread out. The only place we do require a mask is our wagon ride. We will do constant cleaning on all of our surfaces--especially our eating areas and we do have hand sanitizer stations around the farm as well as hand wash stations.”

Admission prices have gone down for visitors. Children ages 2 and under are welcome free of charge.

“Due to COVID-19, we know people are experiencing financial difficulties--it’s been a tough year for us as well, but we are actually reducing our admission price by 25% compared to last year. The admission this year is $7.50 per person. We’re just trying to make it a little easier on families to come out and have a great day at the pumpkin patch.”

The pumpkin patch will be open from September 26th through October 4th.
