With the Thanksgiving holiday being only one week away, several schools have confirmed students will be doing traditional learning after their week long break. Lauderdale, Newton and Quitman School District plan to return on the Monday following Thanksgiving.
Clarkdale High School recently transitioned to virtual learning for two weeks due to COVID-19 protocols, but has now resumed traditional learning.
“They were super excited to be here. Classes were kind of a buzz all morning,” said Clarkdale High School Principal Brian Jordan. Teachers were excited, students excited. It’s almost like were back to normal with the exception of social distancing and masks of course.”

While students are away enjoying their families and Thanksgiving meal during break, they should stir clear of some things in order to return to school safely.
“Let’s make sure that were practicing safety precautions. We certainly do not want another shutdown so let’s practice social distancing,” said Jordan. “Be safe and responsible. Wear masks when necessary because the most important thing to me is for the kids to be here and for them to be safe.”
