Local woman organizes donation drive

Meridian, Miss. - A donation drive is being held to benefit victims of domestic violence at the Care Lodge in Meridian. The event planner, Shakira Butler, is asking that the community come out to support by donating clothes, shoes, and hygiene products - or any items deemed essential. butler advises that the community can give, even outside of donations.

“I would just love for everybody to come. If they can just bring one item or just write a note to spread kindness. I think that’s most important. Sometimes a small note or a small gesture of kindness is all you need, says Butler.

The event will be held this Friday, April 16th, starting at 3 p.m.
