Magnolia and Half Marathon

Lauderdale County Sheriff Department is encouraging people to be aware and use caution in traffic tomorrow morning near downtown Meridian.

The 8th annual Magnolia Marathon and Half will start and finish at Meridian City Hall on Saturday beginning at 7 A.M. Participants will be running along with traffic for most of the course that will last 8 hours.


The marathon will include several streets throughout Meridian. Areas in downtown Meridian will start to close this evening in preparation for the run. These are the streets you should be aware of tomorrow morning:


B & C streets

Front street,

4th street-11th street

20th Avenue,

22nd Avenue (Both Directions)

23rd (Both Directions)

24th, 26th Avenue (Both Directions)

Poplar Springs

Northwood areas

Portions of 34th 38th, 41st, 43rd, & 46th streets

10th Avenue,

Grandview Avenue

Parkway Blvd Country Club Drive
