Marion MS - Dale Drive is expected to close when the town of Marion begins a summer bridge project. The project will consist of replacing a bridge as well as installing a roundabout.
Southern Accents is near the bridge… business manager Billy Calvert welcomes the project. “You know sometimes people don’t like to see change, but change is good.”
Although the bridge project may cause disruptions, Calvert remains hopeful about customers and the family business. “We’ve got great customers; we feel like they’re still going to come and make the necessary detour to get here.”
Vicky Evans of Marion isn’t too worried about travelling through the town. “As long as there is way home and to get to places, I believe people can leave a little earlier and compensate for the time lost.”
She would also like to see more renovations in the town. “Would be good for them to have more places to pick up food without having to cook.”
The residents say although this change could affect the community, it is needed to make the community better.
