Mayor of Meridian treats members of the community to a free lunch on city hall lawn

Mayor Percy Bland invited members of the community out to enjoy a free lunch on him, on the city hall lawn.

In celebration of Mayor Bland’s 50th birthday, he decided to give back to the citizens of Meridian, treating members of the community to a lunch from a local restaurant, Rib Shack. Music was played on city hall lawn as citizens lined up for a to-go plate. social distancing was enforced, and facial coverings were worn.

“I just wanted to give back to this community that been so good to me from a personal, business, and political side, and it’s just a blessing to be a leader of a city like Meridian,” said Percy Bland, Mayor of Meridian.

The free lunch was served on city hall lawn from 11:45am until 1pm.
