In Neshoba County, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians announced that it now has its own specialty license plate for tribe members.

Thanks to the recent passing of Senate Bill 2288 in the Mississippi Legislature and Governor Tate Reeves signature, tribal members will be able to pay a fee of $33 for the specialized tag that features the tribal seal with the word “Chahta” and eight diamonds that represent the tribal communities. MBCI specialty license plates applicants must present either a MBCI issued Tribal Identification card, Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood, or non-enrolled member Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood.
