Today is a day of celebration and to remember and honor all who have served our Country and Meridian Community College did just that this morning.

In Honor of Veterans Day, Meridian Community College hosted a Veteran’s Day Program to remember, honor and give thanks to those who have served in the Armed Forces. Today we pay tribute to all military service members past and present.
Ashley Tanksley, Director of Commissions at MCC said, “So, we hosted this event today to basically show honor and appreciation to all of our veterans and their family for serving our country.”
According to the census bureau, our nations veterans are only comprised of about 7% of the adult population. Those that have served are celebrated all across the united states.
Jason McElhenney, Wing Executive Officer at Key Field Base said, “If you look across this room we have some of our Nation’s greatest generations here and so I’m extremely honored to be here to honor those people who gave the sacrifice to make this Country what it is.”

Aldersgate Retirement Community this year has the honor to house 20 veterans that live in the community.
Marsha Hannah the Marketing Director of Aldersgate said, “For several years now MCC have included and highlighted our Veterans at Aldersgate for their Veterans Day Program and we are just very honored to be here.”
Retired Veteran David Henson says he is grateful and honored that MCC invited them to be celebrated.
“It is great and Aldersgate is a great place to live and MCC has everything to do with us coming out today, thank you very much MCC.”
