The month of March is recognized as Women’s History Month. Meridian Community College (MCC) celebrated by having a “Women's History Month” luncheon.

Keynote speaker Nora Roberts Miller, President of Mississippi University for Women, gave a speech entitled “A Mile in Her Shoes”.
“I was given that title, and that made me think about what shoes do I wear and what roles are they for”, said President Miller.
With a room full of young women President Miller says it is important to know the different roles of a woman.
“Especially for young women, it’s important to learn about different roles and how people get to where they end up. It takes twists and turns. Take advantage of the learning that you have from each one of those roles”, stated Miller.

Environmental studies student, Piper Gonzalez, told us why she felt it was important for her to be at the luncheon:
“I am all about women supporting other women. So, I was excited to come today and to have discussions with people at our tables about what their career paths are for themselves and just learning about other women at my school”, explained Piper.

Mentors sat at the table with students to talk about their futures and to encourage students to persevere. Mentor Kimberly Rush shared her hopes for the young women:
“Well for one, just to encourage whatever goals they have. At the table that I sat at people wanted to be business owners, one woman wanted to be a specialist, a counselor, a principal. They can do those things”, said Rush.
MCC is looking to continue this celebration next year.
I get paid over $180 per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I just got paid $ 8550 in my previous month It Sounds unbelievable but you wont forgive yourself if you don’t check it.
