Meridian, MS - Colonel Albert T. “AB” Germany, who is the Joint Air Component Coordination Element Director of the 186th Air Refueling Wing, served as the speaker of Meridian Community College’s Veterans Day Program, to give attendees a deeper understanding of the life of Veterans.
“Understanding that it’s not just one trip, that a lot of us make multiple deployments, and some of the pressure that our families are under while we’re deployed, and things that they have to deal with in our absence,” says Colonel Germany.
Speaking of pressure on the family, MCC Freshman Jakelya Brown expressed her thoughts on having a family member in the military. “Thinking about them every day and worrying about their safety and worrying about them worrying about us.”
Rance Pringle is a retired Veteran, who served in the National Guard for 15 years, and feels overjoyed when attending appreciation events such as this. “It’s a blessing that they’re still honoring us. I thank God for bringing me back home, 'cause I myself was overseas for a year, and It’s a blessing that they’re still honoring us.”
