Meridian City workers decorate the downtown area for the Holidays

Meridian, MS - The city workers in Meridian have been hard at work this week transforming the city for the holiday season.

Workers are putting up a massive Christmas tree in front of City Hall.

Dumont Plaza is spreading joy to the locals with its decorations.

Locals from Meridian were excited to see the Christmas decorations.

"It's pretty neat to see this, and come down here at night to see it lit up gets you ready for the holidays," said Stacy Barr.

Darrin Mitchell Jr. says, "It's a good time to interact, have fun with our family, be around each other, and just have fun. It's giving season."
