Meridian Community College celebrates International Students.

jroby5

Meridian, MS - Nedra Bradley is the executive director of parent services and student support and feels that international students should be honored like other students, especially with fear and controversy over the Hamas-Israel War. “We do not limit their speech here at Meridian Community College, they’re free to express themselves as long as everything is done in a peaceful manner, we give them that freedom to do that."

"All students have to feel safe and important when they’re on campus, and that is one of the things Meridian Community College does support. We try to make all students feel inclusive and make them feel like they’re part of the community and part of the college,” says Bradley.

MCC Student Aoayam Zaidan is originally from Yemen and expressed how he’s felt since America. “It was kind of hard at first; getting in here, but I kind of got used to it. Getting along with people, it’s pretty great.”

He also expressed how he looks forward to more opportunities, being in America. “The education and work here, it’s kind of like better than where I come from.”

MCC is proud to honor its international students and have them interact with other students on the campus, as they say, “kindness is the same in every language.”
