Today The Meridian Community College held its Hall of Fame Ceremony, a highlight of the College’s Academic Year.

Four College Alumni and Employees who have excelled in their profession and life mission were inducted into the Hall of Fame. The Annual Ceremony took place this afternoon. We learn more about today from the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
“So today is an annual event for the MCC foundation where we host MCC’s Hall of Fame Induction. It's a great event for us here. Every year, we induct around four individuals into Meridian Community College’s Hall of Fame,” stated Leigh Hill.
Today the College honored individuals who’ve reached the 30-year mark and have been employed at the college for over 30 years as well as honoring any fallen eagles.
Hill said, “The best part of this event is celebrating others, recognizing the impact that MCC has on our students and our employees, and people that are connected with us, our lives. It's just an important time to stop and reflect on the changes and the impact that our college has on others and then how others impact the college.”

The individuals who were inducted today were Willeman Damon who was a long-time instructor, Ann Dowdle who was the first MCC Executive Director, Ray Denton who was the Dean of Learning Resources for the College and T.J Soyyoye. We hear from one of the inductees.

Ray Denton said,” I've been associated with Meridian Community College for over 50 years, and to be Inducted today is truly an honor. The people that I see on this wall that are members of the Hall of Fame are people that I just have always looked up to. So, to be there with them is just an honor beyond belief. I attribute all of this to the staff that I couldn't have done without them.”
