Meridian, MS - Meridian Community College hosted a community resource fair, a way for students like Jarius Smith to learn about opportunities, and resourceful information. “It’s a lot of different things and it’s a lot of different opportunities to show you, and you can sign up for, so I feel like it’s a good thing for everybody in college.”
Learning from many organizations in the community students were able to find what interests them. For sophomore student Mary Ashley Culpepper, the Air Force could be a possibility for a future career. “My Dad’s in the guard, so I see how he benefits from being in the guard and how he serves his country, and it’s just really encouraging to me and something I’ve been interested in lately.”
Freshman Emily Sherman believes the Army Services can help achieve her dream of traveling the world to help in other communities. “Being able to go third world countries, and do some humanitarian work there really has interests me, just being able to do some kind of mission work through that as well.”
MCC says the resource fair is a great way to give students resources that can help them in college and after.
