Meridian, MS - Students are turning flips, having fun, and learning, as Meridian Community College hosts its annual “Liftoff” Orientation event.
“It’s a good way for students not only to get acclimated with the campus, but also we have different types of rotations that students are able to attend.” says Mandy Hurt.
Mandy Hurt is the Director of recruiting and feels that orientation is beneficial to both parents and students. “Statistically they say that orientations help students not only become more acclimated, but they are more successful. So, we feel that it should be an informative event, not only for the students but parents and guardians as well.”
Speaking of being beneficial, incoming student Donelle Mowery found the orientation helpful to her future career. “I really want to do radiology, so I’m excited about that part.”
Students Zelltoria Davis, and Kira Payne are excited to see what their college future has in store.
“I’m looking forward to meeting new people, and this new environment that I’m not used to.” - Zelltoria Davis
“I’m looking forward to meeting new people, starting a new life and starting off fresh.” - Kira Payne
Meridian Community College says they are excited to welcome their new students for the new school year.
