Meridian, MS - It’s “My College Cares” day for Meridian Community College, a day where Students and staff have the chance to help out in the community.
“I think it’s important to train our students to be the example, to be the leadership leaders that they are in our society, to be able to give back not only to our college but to our community, and to those that are looking up to them.” says Director of Housing and Student Activities: Kelli Wallace.
As students helped in different locations in the community, Kelli Wallace and her team chose to help at the Meridian Housing Authority Oakland Heights Apartments. “It is our duty today to give back to as many locations as possible.”
Speaking of giving back, MCC Freshman Ramsey Land was very excited to visit and help the elderly. “I like Senior Citizens, I think it’s more important to like care for them, and to just learn more about them, and they always have a story.”
Students at Meridian Community College say they enjoyed helping out in the community and volunteering today.
