Meridian Community College summer student enrollment set the record for the highest in the history of the college.
Meridian Community College administrators say the county reached 1,917 students for the summer term, compared to the 2019 report of 1,007 resulting in a 90 percent increase.
“We’ve got a couple of great special programs that have really helped boost our numbers and we’re excited about having so many students in our classes this summer," says President Dr. Thomas Huebner.
"One of those programs is designed to attract recently graduated high school students and we’re got a great number of those taking classes all over the state. The big initiative we that pushed this summer was for K-12 teachers-giving them an opportunity to get some additional training for being able to teach online.”
President Huebner says it’s a great time for students to register for the fall semester. The campus will be open on July 6th for students who need assistance in form.
