Meridian, MS - The Neshoba County Fair is in full swing with many political speakers gearing up for the upcoming elections, but that’s not all, it’s also Meridian Day.
Matt Schanrock is the main street director for the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation and feels Meridian day is a great time for the community. “Since we’re so close; sister cities, it’s a good time for us to represent Meridian and we’re so thankful they allow us to come out and do that. We’ll bring out our non-profits in the area, our hospital, our schools, and we’ll provide some entertainment and give out some door prizes.”
So how does this impact the City of Meridian? “The people you meet out here, it’s just a great time to network as well, there’s so many people that come to this fair, and I think that’s the biggest thing you take away from it sometimes.”
Speaking of networking, Rance Bilbo enjoys the fellowship of the fair. “Getting to meet people, seeing people that you haven’t met in a while, political speeches are always good as well, but mostly just meeting people.”
The Neshoba County Fair continues until this Friday, July 28th.
