Today is unlike any other day at Meridian High School. Today the School held its Mentoring program for its students. For the girls, The Girls With Pearls and the boys' Men Mentoring Men.

"We have the kickoff of our Men Making Men Mentor Program. This is a men's motivation Monday. We have a lot of our male mentors on campus. We are going to have an awesome Motivational Program for them and at the same time, the girls are across the yard of the auditorium," stated Joseph Stone, the Founder of Men Mentoring Men.
Stone said growing up he had an older male in his life to mentor him growing up and saw that there was a need for a mentoring program for the boys.
"We want to be here to help them navigate those pitfalls, to get around those things that could derail them from a great future. So I'm just happy that we've had such a great response from the men in this community," stated Stone.
The Men Mentoring Men Program is the first of its kind to take place here on the campus today's guest speaker along with some volunteers expressed what it means to help out with the program.
"Any time that I get an opportunity to speak to the kids and hopefully find somebody that can relate to them. I've been called on several times, but today we're going to try to put everything I've ever done into one speech and just hopefully give them everything to just let them leave with something that they can take away from here," said Jamard Wright, the Guest Speaker.

The Girls with Pearls also held their 2nd Annual meeting which has now expanded to include all girls from grades 9th-12th.
"So today is character building, And what is character building? It is what you do when no one is looking or listening and your thoughts and what you're telling yourself when you get up in the morning and when you go to bed," said Tabbitha Jones the Co-Founder of Girls with Pearls.
Both programs plan to continue impacting the lives of the youth.
