Meridian, MS - A District Wide College Fair was held Meridian Community College earlier today, and according to Brandon Dewease, who is the associate dean of student engagement, it was a great way for students to learn about different opportunities and schools in the state of Mississippi. “Just having an opportunity to learn about extending their education somewhere in the state of Mississippi.”
A range of over 40 representatives including: Mississippi State, Ole Miss, East Mississippi, and the Air Force, were on sight to give students more choices in their future. Something that West Lauderdale Student Kamdyn Fields finds very helpful. “I’m still trying to decide what I want to do after I go to the military, just exploring my options really.”
As for student Selena Williams, she felt the fair was a great resource in her journey to becoming an MSU Bulldog, and on to her future career. “I plan to be a child therapist, especially for military kids that are going through school and moving a lot, it’s cause I’m a navy brat so that what I know.”
MCC says they were happy to host the students to give and show them other options after High School.
