Yesterday evening, the city of Meridian celebrated and recognized Meridian native Jamal Roberts for his accomplishments on season 10 of BET’s Sunday Best, the gospel singing competition.

Members of the community drove by Dumont Plaza in a drive by parade celebrating Roberts, who was one of the top 3 finalists of season 10 BET’s Sunday Best. Roberts was awarded a celebratory plaque by the city of Meridian, recognizing him for his performances on BET’s Sunday Best. Jamal, alongside his one-year old daughter, Harmoni, family, and friends, waved to members of the community that participated in the parade.
“My city’s always been supportive. You know, since I was very young, they’ve been pushing me. they’ve been behind me every step of the way aggressively, you know. so, like I’ve said before, small city, big support system, and I’m forever grateful,” said Jamal Roberts.

Jamal Roberts recently had his debut single “He’s Preparing Me” released nationally in August, to all digital outlet stores.
