The “Drug Take Back” will take place from 10am-2pm at the Bonita Lakes Mall Police Precinct, located near the food court entrance. Attendees will be able to anonymously drop off their pills, patches, and vaping devices to be destroyed, and will be given a personal prescription lockbox, sweet treats and pamphlets in return. Needles and syringes will not be accepted for disposal at this event.

“The drug take back is a vital public safety and health issue we are addressing in this community with those who are purging their homes of unwanted prescription medication, or controlled substance that are dangerous if gotten into the wrong hands. We’re taking those back from you. We’re helping for the community to properly dispose of those dangerous drugs,” said Lt. Rita Jack, Prescription Drug Take-Back Coordinator.

For more information regarding the disposal of prescription drugs or the “Drug Take Back” event on October 24, you can contact Lt. Rita Jack at (601)513-6916, or visit www.DEATakeBack.com .
