Meridian, MS - Meridian Public School District is hoping to bring parents in the community together to learn about helpful resources.
“We want to make sure that our parents are aware of all the resources that are out there for their physical and mental health, in order to make sure that they’re able to take care of the kids to the best of their ability.” says Adrian Phillips.
Speaking of health, Parent and community engagement specialist Adrian Phillips expressed how this fair benefited those who attended. “This is an opportunity for them to learn about a lot of things especially allergies, food, and nutrition, and the way that it can impact your health.”
Being a mother herself, Christie Beeker finds events like these very beneficial. “If we don’t know what available to us, then how can we help our kids.”
Although there was little parent turnout, Meridian Public School District says it’s proud of the organizations in the community that came together, and the networking that was done.
