Meridian Salvation Army preparing for Angel Tree Registration.

Meridian, MS - The Salvation Army in Meridian is gearing up for busy 2023 holiday season.

As the Christmas holidays are less than 100 days away, The Salvation Army is preparing for an increase in requests for service. The Meridian affiliate's Annual Angel Tree Registration officially starts on Monday, Oct. 2nd. This year, The Salvation Army is including Senior Angels in the annual programs and accepting applications from those over 60.

“There are so many people that can't afford to get gifts for their kids. Let’s face it, income is not going up, but prices are, and so it makes it hard when you have to decide am I going to pay my bills, or eat, or am I going to take that money and buy for my family.” says Lieutenant Roy Fisher
