Meridian, MS - The Mississippi Children’s Museum was the place to be today.
Elementary students from Meridian and surrounding areas came to learn about jobs in the community.
This “Field Trip Friday” serves as the second day of the museum’s 3-day “Science Saturday” event.
“We have different groups like EMEPA, MDOT, and several groups from Mississippi State University. It’s just a way for children to be introduced to the work that they do in a fun and hands-on environment," says Assistant Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Rebecca Parker.
These events aim to get children excited about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, better known as STEAM.
The museum says tomorrow’s Science Saturday is a fun way for children to explore the different STEAM concepts and skills from current professionals in each industry.
