The Mississippi Children’s Museum-Meridian exhibits are underway.
Mississippi Children’s Museum’s President/CEO, Susan Garrard, and MCM-Meridian’s Executive Director, Liz Wilson, recently drove a 14-hour road trip to the Heartland Scenic Studio in Omaha, Nebraska.
These officials were able to review the exhibit construction progress on the Museum and also delivered many artifacts collected in East Mississippi, which will also be included in the exhibit galleries.
“We have 10,000 square feet of exhibits in the museum and they’re all hands on and they’re larger than life and they offer an opportunity for children to interact with them and manipulate them to learn new things," says Executive Director Liz Wilson. "At Heartland Scenic Studio we got a sneak peek. It was a water tower that towered over our heads-just as it will with children and a steam engine ready to be filled with coal, a mobile medic clinic, and a kitchen. So it was really exciting seeing the project coming along.”
