Meridian, MS - A new Study from Bankrate shows Mississippi is considered one of the top 5 best states to retire in. Something that residents Leah Brown, and Myra Mabry find very beneficial.
“The cost of living is low, if you’re on a fixed income, you can afford to be here.” says Leah Brown
“I love it, of course I’ve lived in Mississippi all my life.” says Myra Mabry
Even though she is retired, Myra Mabry also finds ways to stay active, attending the Meridian Activity Center. “I mean exercise, classes, I mean anything you want you can find here.”
For residents Nancy Reid, and Katie Fleming, finding the Activity Center was a way of helping to adjust to retirement.
“It gave me an outlet, to come to move my body, to make myself go.” says Nancy Reid
“I was able to come over here and exercise, attend tea parties, do watercolor painting, a lot of things which helped me to adjust.” says Katie Fleming
Activity Center Director, Kathy Anderson feels the center is a great place for retirees to get involved. “The center is just a very valuable resource for retirees.”
The activity center promises to have many things to offer to those who want to stay active and enjoy retirement.
