Today, Mississippi Power reopened its bill payment offices in Meridian, Gulfport and Hattiesburg, Mississippi after being closed for nearly 7 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Customers are now welcome for walk-in payments, but safety precautions are in place to limit the potential spread of COVID-19. First off, furniture has been removed and there are no more waiting areas.
“We have several protocols in place to keep that a safe experience as possible,” says Mississippi Power Spokesperson Kaila Moran Griffith. “We’re moving any additional chairs and furniture as well--just to be able to control that flow of traffic and get customers the space to spread out and be socially distant.”
Plexiglass has been installed for customers and employees to stay safe while transferring payments.
“We installed some new plexiglass shield to protect our employees and our customers. We are doing things like requiring customers to wear masks, we’re limiting the number of customers in our lobbies, we have hand sanitizing stations.”
Customers are still encouraged to take advantage of drive-thru and dropbox options for all locations. Customers may also continue their online payments by visiting the company’s website.
