MPSD kicks off its Administration Retreat

The Meridian Public School District’s Leaders gathered for their Administrative Retreat to kick off the 2022-2023 School Year. The theme for this year is: Inspiring and Developing Excellence through Trust and Unity for their students.

"Today we're here. We gather together as a team of leaders in the District to work and discuss. And the processes that we're putting in place. And it's all evolved around. Our goal is to inspire, develop and motivate," said Shirley Mosley, Principal of Oakland Height Elementary School.

The Annual Retreat is a way for the School's Leaders to come together and share and learn new ways to help and improve their student’s education and school experience.

"One of the things that we did at the end of the School Year was that we set down as a team to discuss what our goals and our vision for the upcoming school year. We talked about inspiring and motivating our students and motivating our staff. That's our ultimate goal here, is to inspire, educate, and empower our students and, of course, the Staff in the District," said Mosely.

Trust and Unity are the main goals the Leaders are aiming toward, they detail how exactly they plan to implement that in their schools.

"We have several students come from Carver and T.J Harris. They haven't been with us. So it's a new transition for them coming to Magnolia Middle School. So one of our goals is to make sure that we establish trust and unity as we reach our goal of excellence," said Sherrod Miller, Principal of Magnolia Middle School.

The Administrative Retreat will end on Friday, July 8th.
