Updated: Oct 27, 2020

MSU Meridian has announced that its new Master of Physician Assistant Studies Degree program has achieved accreditation-provisional status, and will enroll its first cohort next year.

There were 250 applicants and 50 finalists competing for 20 available cohort slots, to begin studies in the PA program in January of 2021. Physician Assistants are nationally certified and state-licensed medical professionals who practice medicine on healthcare teams with physicians and other providers. MSU-Meridian’s Associate Vice President and head of campus, Terry Dale Cruse, shared that he is excited to welcome the program to MSU-Meridian’s Riley campus in downtown Meridian.

“Our program is here to serve the residents of the state of Mississippi, through providing practitioners for rural health care, but also to serve aspiring medical professionals in the state of Mississippi, through providing an affordable high quality physician assistant education and those are our two primary goals of this program,” said Dr. Terry Dale Cruse.
