MSU Riley Center prepares for Sara Evans concert

The MSU Riley Center is preparing for the Sara Evans concert that takes place this Saturday, August 22nd. Debuting their first live concert since the beginning of the pandemic, the Riley Center is making sure CDC guidelines are being met.

“We have gone through great trouble to try to make it as safe as we can,” Executive Director Dan Barnard explains. “We can get people in and out safety by ensuring social distancing. We’re going to have a thermal imaging camera that will discretely check your temperature as you go by.”

Masks are required by everyone in the building and hand sanitizer stations are set up at every corner. If temperature checks test high in total, they will conduct a double check.

“People will pass by the thermal imaging camera, which takes an initial temperature reading-if that spikes high, then we’ll ask them to step into a more discrete place and we’ll have some nursing students from Meridian Community College to do a more accurate thermometer check. If anybody has a high temperature, we’ll just refund them their money.”

To limit interaction, there will be a show at 6PM and 8:30PM. Each show will contain only a 50% crowd which will be socially distant four feet apart. To purchase tickets, visit here.
